Description
La Flaca Decaffeinated offers a beautifully sweet and clean Colombian cup without compromise. Sourced from Antioquia at elevations of 1,600 – 1,900m, this decaf is processed entirely in Colombia a rare approach that preserves far more of the coffee’s natural character. Instead of using harsh chemicals or overseas processing, this coffee is decaffeinated using the Sugar Cane (E.A.) process, a gentle method that maintains flavour integrity while removing at least 97% of caffeine. Locally grown sugarcane is fermented to create natural ethyl acetate, which is then used to selectively extract caffeine after the beans are softened with low-pressure steam. The result is a clean, chemical-free process that retains sweetness, aromatics, and origin clarity.

Producer Story
This decaf is produced by Cafelumbus, an Antioquia-based project dedicated to quality-focused sourcing, processing, and sustainability. Grown between 1,600 and 1,900 meters, the coffee reflects the rich volcanic soils and ideal growing conditions of the region. Harvested from September to December, it undergoes washed processing before entering the sugar cane decaffeination facility, allowing the coffee to retain its clean, bright character even after decaffeination. By keeping the entire process within Colombia, Cafelumbus ensures both better quality control and greater value staying within the origin.
Why We Love it
La Flaca is one of those rare decafs that tastes like a great coffee first and a decaf second. The Sugar Cane E.A. process preserves its honey and caramel sweetness, juicy apricot acidity, and rounded medium body, making it a comforting yet vibrant cup. Smooth, balanced, and highly drinkable, it’s a standout for anyone looking for a flavourful decaffeinated option without sacrificing depth or character.
